Travel and Accommodations
Chicago has everything to offer, but it's still smart to check with online travel guides for the best flights and hotel accommodations. Of its two airports, O'Hare International Airport is the one you should schedule your flights to if you're flying in, as it's closer to the North Side. Rental cars aren't recommended, as public transportation takes you to Wrigley, and parking is minimal. More hotels are located 2-3 miles away in the Loop, but it's just a train ride away.

The North Side of Chicago features many small concert venues and theaters that are the breeding grounds for such shows at the Blue Man Group. Check with box offices and ticket offices to find out what's playing when you're in town. Be sure to secure concert tickets as soon as possible, because they will disappear.
The Chicago Cubs enter the 2005 season as one of the favorites to win the NL Central division once again. After suffering embarrassing collapses late in each of the last two seasons, the Cubs are ready to get the monkey off their back and return to the World Series for the first time since 1945. The Cubs have won seven pennants since last winning the World Series in 1908, but they had the misfortune of running into some great teams, including the Philadelphia Athletics of the Dead Ball Era, the New York Yankees of the 1930s, and the Detroit Tigers of the 1930s and 1940s. The 2004 season marked the first time the Cubs had back-to-back winning seasons since 1972, when the Cubs had six consecutive winning seasons. If Chicago was a little deeper during that era, they could have won a few World Series. The teams included guys like Ernie Banks, Billy Williams, Ron Santo and Ferguson Jenkins, but unfortunately, they did not have much support.
