The Cleveland Cavaliers began its first NBA season in 1970 under the direction of Bill Fitch. This team was formed under the expansion plan and had to struggle a lot. After a 15-67 first season, the team continued to build its team around first-round draft pick Austin Carr. The team included stars like Bingo Smith, Dick Snyder, Campy Russell, Foots Walker, Nate Thurmond, and Jim Chones. In 1975-76 season the team's hard work paid off. The team was founded in 1960. In last 70s the Cavaliers posted their first victory by beating the expansion Trail Blazers, 105-103, in Portland. In 1986, NBA drafted center Brad Daugherty and guard Ron Harper and attained the the draft rights to guard Mark Price. The club took the services of Lenny Wilkens as coach, beginning with the 1986-87 season. Another major forward player who joined the team included Larry Nance in a trade and the team finished with a 42-40 record, its first winning season in ten years. Cleveland won 57 games in 1988-89, but again lost to the Bulls in the first round of the playoffs. The 1989, season was a disappointing one due to a few injured players, the team had to play without Brad Daugherty, who was on the injured list. In 1991-92, as the Cavaliers won 57 games again and advanced to the Eastern Conference Finals, but at the finals the team was defeated by Bulls. The 91-92 season the lineup included Price, Daugherty, and Nance. The Cleveland had one of their best seasons in 1992-93, leading the league. The team won 54 games. The home stadium of the team is Gund Arena. The arena was inaugurated in 1994 and has a seating capacity of 20, 500. Each year Gund Arena hosts more than two million people, who attend close to 200 events including Cavaliers basketball, world-class concerts, spectacular family shows and signature sporting events. The uniform color of the team is wine, gold, dark blue, and white and the logo is a gold sword through a stylized "Cavaliers" text on a basketball background.
