The Orlando Magic is a National Basketball Association team. The team is based in Orlando, Florida. Magic was founded in 1989. The team was granted NBA franchise along with Minnesota in 1989-90. The price of admission was $32.5 million per team. The team's first lineup included Reggie Theus, Scott Skiles, Terry Catledge, Sam Vincent, Otis Smith, and Jerry Reynolds. The team moved to the finals in the first five of formation, a record in itself. The team made some smart moved and drafted forward Nick Anderson in 1989, forward Dennis Scott 1990, center Shaquille O'Neal 1992 and guard Anfernee “Penny” Hardaway in 1993. This lineup helped the team to reach the 1995 NBA Finals. The first head coach of the team was Matt Guokas. The team played its debut game on November 4, 1989 at the jam packed Orlando Arena. The team played its first game against the New Jersey Nets, 111-106. On November 6, 1989, the team tasted its first victory after defeating the New York Knicks 118-110. Two days later the team played against the Cavaliers at Cleveland and won the game 117-110. The team went 7-7 in its first month of playing, which was best ever starting by an expansion team. In the first season the Orlando won only 18 games. In the following season the team had a disappointing season the Magic posted a 21-61. The team's finest players were on the disability list as Scott missed all 18 games of the season with injuries, and Nick Anderson sat out for 22 contests. In 1995, the teams sixth season in the league, the Orlando Magic posted the best record in the Eastern Conference (57-25), won the Atlantic Division, after defeating the Boston Celtics, the Chicago Bulls, and the Indiana Pacers in the playoffs and moved to the NBA Finals. In the 95-96 season the team replaced coach Brian Hill with assistant Richie Adubato. Richie led the team to a 21-12 record. At the end of the season the team managed 60 wins but lost to the Chicago Bulls in the conference semifinals. The uniform color of the team is blue, white, silver, and black. The logo design is capital letters with blue-lettered ORLANDO enshrined on the home jersey. The home stadium of the team is TD Waterhouse Centre. The stadium has a seating capacity of 17, 500. The stadium was built costing $98 million and was built in 1989.
